I know it isn’t New Years for you Americans (and British) folks for a good while yet but down ‘ere in good ole New Zealand and Australia we’ve been celebrating the start of the year 2010 for 2 hours now.
So from me to you, and on behalf of the two of us here at WowHumor, I’d like to wish you all a happy new year. Have a good one, stay safe and don’t let any of that grog go to waste else the dwarves will split ye face in two!

Unlike WowHumor’s birthday (that was November 29th, by the way!) I’m not forgetting this one!
We here at WowHumor would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, Hanuka, or any other religious or traditional holiday that your family and friends celebrate. And when the New Year comes round, try not to get too pissed. Trust me, playing WoW is extremely hard when you’re drunk
Summer Holidays (or Winter, depending on where you live) is a rather “busy” time. Busy in that most of us are either lazing out at home in front of a cozy fire to get away from the snow or down at the beach enjoying the sun while it lasts. Since I may not get to post again allow me to post my own New Year’s revolutions for WowHumor.
- Fix the image uploader. This has been a thorn in my side for far too long and so I shall either fix the damn thing or replace it entirely. I apologise to those who have sent us images (and some of you have) because we simply cannot see them, the form doesn’t work
- Redo the layout. A redesign of our current layout is quite possible next year depending on my own inspiration. In any case, certain features of the new one would be nice to have touched up such as where the random image is sitting right now.
- Add more images! This is our biggest issue and it’s one I take full responsibility for. WowHumor is a almost a year and one month old now and we only have just over a hundred images. To those of you who check back on a regular basis, we love you guys. For the rest of this year, as well as next, I will be working extra hard to get hundreds more images by this time next year. I feel 500-1,000 images is an extremely realistic number, so let’s see if I can pull it off!
Update: I’ve “fixed” the submission uploader. It seems that none of our server’s default e-mail software wants to show the messages but something Microsoft developed does (yes, ironic, I know!).
Well that’s it from me for now. So tell me, dear reader, how has your holidays been so far and do you have any New Year’s revolutions?

Broken links (or “dead links” are the bane of many websites. And WowHumor is no exception.
Simply put, a broken link is a link that points to a web page or server that is unavailable. Resulting in either 404 errors (where the web server is found the page isn’t found on the server) or DNS errors (where it can’t find the server).
I have just fixed a few of them that somehow escaped my gaze when adding the pages. Many of them were rather important to and, if you were wondering what the Next button on the 8th image didn’t work, it’s because it was the link was broken (and even if it wasn’t you’d get stuck at images 35, 36 and 37).
These have been fixed, among many other broken links and should hopefully provide a much smoother viewing experience. In fact, it should let you view the images full stop.

I’ve finally gotten around to adding the last few images to the database. Why haven’t I done so before? Two reasons:
- I am lazy.
- Studies have preoccupied most of my time (as well as procrastination).
There’s really no excuse to it, so I won’t try and make one.
On another note, the contact form is also working again! Do not ask how it is, but know that it is! So feel free to spam our inbox again with letters or how much you dislike our laziness (or even letters of love <3).
The submission form however, has not been so lucky, and hopefully the script’s writer will get back to me and fix the problem. If not, well we’ll have to come up with an alternative then.
On another note aside from the “another note” above, it’s nearly our one-year anniversary. This will be on the 29th of November and I will make another blog entry on that date. I will say now, however, that whilst I believe the site has been a “success” thus far, we could have done much better, and one of my New Year’s resolutions will be to do so!
I’ll speak more on that subject in two weeks time, as for now: Black Friday awaits thee, let’s see what trouble I get myself in tonight!

Both the submission and contact forms are currently down for the count. This is because they use the PHP mail() function which allows you guys to send us e-mails (and also for us to send out e-mails via the forums).
While it’s down any e-mails sent will not be received, the forms will say the message has been delivered perfectly fine, because it has been. But we won’t actually get the message.
So please refrain from sending us images and comments via our forms for the time being as you’ll just be wasting your time.

The ratings system is now working as it should be. Visitors can rate any posts (such as this one) but you will need to register an account and be logged into the site before you can vote on images.
More images are also being added as we speak. I’m also thinking of ways to improve upon the random image part of the site (the random picture that’s found just below the navigation bar on some pages) as currently it is quite intrusive.

Just a little status report from me concerning the ratings system and the rest of the images.
Ratings System
Still trying to kink out a few bugs with the system currently. The major one being that some users cannot vote on any of the pictures. Either because that particular image has had it’s votes “locked” (meaning you can’t vote on them at all) or because the system just won’t let you. I’ll try and fix this as soon as possible.
Images
As of current only ~60 images have been added to the system, yet roughly 117 actually lie in the server. Therefore, by doing some simple maths, 57 images still need their own pages. This is currently being worked on and those extra images should be added soon. You may even seem them spring up now and then if you continuously refresh the main page (with the random image on it).
Accounts
The website and forum accounts have yet to be merged due to some technical difficulties when trying to do so. I will attempt to remedy this next weekend, if not earlier.

As I’m sure many die-hard WoW-fans sure already know by now, sites such as WowHead and WoW Insider are following up BlizzCon and covering it with posts on their own websites. The biggest coverage most likely about the upcoming expansion pack for World of Warcraft titled “Cataclysm” (click here to view the official website). Other updates of interest may have been info such as Diablo III’s new class, the “Monk”, but that’s not about Warcraft now is it? Read my opinion on the expansion after the break.
